According to the township engineer Wayne Kiefer, bids came in overall higher than expected. The fluctuations in price occur according to the price of labor, which is very intensive in the bridge repair job, noted Kiefer.

Throughout the construction, one lane would remain open on the bridge. It was explained during the meeting that closing both lanes would not reduce the construction time by any considerable amount of time.

In addition to bridge work, the board approved a bid for Redwood Avenue storm drain improvements in a four to one vote. ย The winners of the contract was Donato Spaventa and Sons, Inc., with a winning bid of $62,139.00.

The total cost of contracting work approved on Monday night is $366,609.
