Kiley said she was “extremely excited” and thanked the voters for choosing her. She also cited the work of her “great team” in the primary election process.

With 31 of the 38 voting precincts in the 142nd state Assembly District reporting as of 10:50 p.m., Kiley had just over 62 percent of the Democratic vote. Webb had about 37 percent, according to preliminary results.

If elected, Kiley said she would work in Harrisburg to restore education funding, which has been cut in recent years.

The Democratic primary race for the 142nd District was one of the most hotly contested in the area.

Kiley said she received a positive reaction as she knocked on doors during the campaign and visited polling places in the district on Tuesday. The Neshaminy Federation of Teachers (NFT) placed their support behind Kiley in recent days.

Webb’s campaign manager, William O’Connor, told LevittownNow.com the Levittown resident had conceded and would have no further comment. Kiley said she has not heard from Webb as of 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.

State representatives’ districts will change come the new year as part of redistricting that comes every 10 years. Voters this year will cast their ballot based on the new districts. As part of the change, the 142nd district will lose parts of Middletown’s Levittown section and all of Hulmeville and Penndel. The district will gain all of Upper Southampton and the remaining part of Lower Southampton.
