Fire Officials Release Statement About Nifty Fifty’s Blaze

The two-alarm fire that ripped through the 1950s-themed Nifty Fifty’s restaurant on Street Road in Bensalem Friday morning started in the ceiling, according to Eddington Fire Company statement posted to their Facebook page and website.  

According to the statement, employees called the fire in telling officials it started in the ceiling at 6:43 a.m.

The fire “quickly spread into the cavity above the dining area and engulfed the diner,” the statement says.

A second alarm call was issued, which allowed for  additional manpower to put the blaze out  and  for the rotation of firefighters in this oppressive heat, the statement also says.

The fire which, according to emergency radio traffic started shortly after daybreak was subdued by 8:50 am
