A woman accused of stealing a comforter from the Home Goods location by the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown Township was sent to jail unable to post bail earlier this week. Prison officials say it’s her 15th time at the county jail.
According to authorities, Middletown police responded to the store on Monday for reports that a woman entered the store, used pliers to cut off the alarmed sensor tag from a $80 comforter and walked out the front doors of the store.

A store employee went outside and stopped the woman in the parking lot and escorted her back to the store’s security office until law enforcement arrived, police said.
A manager at the business told police the woman stole another comforter valued at $100 from the store in early June, according to court papers. The manager said the woman got away in a black Hyundai.
Officer David Denton viewed store security images of the June theft, and it showed the same woman being held for Monday’s theft, court papers report.

Despite several attempts to identify the woman, police said they could not. Court documents show they used verbal and traditional processing and had no luck. The woman, who refused to cooperate during fingerprinting and a mugshot, provided officials with wrong information but did indicate that she was a resident of Trenton, N.J.
By Wednesday, officials had identified the “Jane Doe” woman as Denise Nixon, 43, of the Morrisville section of Falls Township.
The 43-year-old is facing charges of possession of an instrument of crime and retail theft.

Nixon has been arrested several times in the past, several for theft.
She was sent to county jail for the 15th time by on-call District Judge Leonard J. Brown unable to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail.
