Police have arrested one man and are searching for another suspect they believe robbed the 7-Eleven store in the 800 block of Veterans Highway in Bristol Township on March 27.

Kevin Fant, 21, of Marie Lowe Drive, is charged with robbery, conspiracy, simple assault, theft, terroristic threats and related offenses. His cousin – Derrick Carroll, 20, of Bristol Township – is facing the same charges and is currently being sought.

According to police, two black males wearing hoods and masks entered the store demanded money from the clerk, threatened to kill him and then fled.

Police first got wind of Fant and Carroll’s alleged involvement in the robbery after a confidential source provided investigators with the men’s names the day after the crime was committed, according to court documents. On May 1, another confidential source told police the family members were behind the knifepoint robbery of the convenience store.

Days later, according to police, an officer assigned to the Bristol Township Police Department’s Special Investigation Division reviewed surveillance videos from the 7-Eleven. The officer recognized the suspects in the video from previous contacts and identified them as Fant and Carroll, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

On Monday, police interviewed Fant while he was in custody on an outstanding warrant for a separate incident. According to an affidavit, Fant admitted to investigators he was one of the suspects who entered the 7-Eleven store. He said he was under the influence of Xanax pills and was “not acting like himself,” police said.

As surveillance video of the robbery played, Fant identified himself and Carroll, police said. He said during the interview that he robbed the store to get cash to split with Carroll, court records state.

Fant was also charged on Monday with providing false identification to police and two summary violations for a December incident where police said he was not truthful about his age. During the incident, according to court documents, he also showed a police officer a fake identification card.

The 21-year-old was arraigned before District Judge Joanne Kline and was sent to Bucks County Prison on 10 percent of $500,000 bail on the 7-Eleven robbery charges. His bail in the December incident was set by Kline at 10 percent of $15,000.
