The company providing busing for the Bristol Township School District starting next school year recently ordered some of the new propane-fueled buses that will be used to transport local students, according to trade publications.
According to Fleets and Fuels, Student Transportation of America (STA) has order 80 buses for use in districts the company serves in the state. The website noted that 30 of the new Blue Bird buses will be assigned to Bristol Township.

The new buses will use less gas and are better for the environment, Student Transportation News reported.
STA will serve the district with 70 to 80 all new, propane-fueled buses for at least the next five years, Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee told LevittownNow.com in late April.
The busing company, which is based in New Jersey and serves districts across the nation, is currently in the process of hiring employees to staff a soon-to-be-determined Bristol Township bus depot and maintenance facility. District officials recently said applications for the open positions have exceeded expectations.

The district did not opt to re-sign with busing contractor First Students after the two sides could not come agreeable financial terms, Lee said.
