Georgine’s Co-Owner Says Goal Is To Find Buyer Who Will Continue Legacy
The popular restaurant and banquet facility Georgine’s in Bristol Township appears to be on the market.
A real estate listing that circulated on social media over the weekend noted that the property at 1320 Newport Road in the West Bristol section of the township is listed for sale at $3.8 million.

Included in the sale are the 4-acre property, two buildings that total 13,500 square feet, the business itself along with fixtures and a liquor license, and any existing banquet and catering contracts.
The listing, which did not specifically name Georgine’s but provided enough detail to identify the establishment, describes it as a “very large, very well-known, and popular” business that has been in the community for more than forty years.
The real estate listing highlights the restaurant’s popularity during holidays, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s, noting that it serves about 800 dinners on each occasion and often has to turn away latecomers.

The listing said there are growth opportunities at the site and with the business.
“Absolute turn-key operation and the concept with a new owner should not change,” it reads.

Michael Riccardi, the listing agent, is marketing the property as an excellent opportunity for a new restaurateur.
Despite the property listing, there has been no official announcement from Georgine’s on the plans to sell or close.
The reason behind the sale, according to the listing, is the current owner’s desire to retire. A representative for Georgine’s was not immediately available for comment.

Founded in 1977 by brothers Roy and Michael Nagle and named after their mother Georgine, the restaurant started as a small neighborhood bar and quickly became a dining staple in West Bristol. Georgine’s also offers catering services.
The news of the sale comes a little more than two years after the closure of Georgine’s Jr., a secondary takeout location on Veterans Highway. That location shut its doors in 2021 due to staffing challenges and fluctuating food prices, co-owner Dave Reifsneider said at the time.

The former Georgine’s Jr. property was purchased last year for close to $800,000 and is being converted into a market.
