UPDATE: Vehicle Involved In Hit-&-Run Believed To Have Heavy Damage

Bristol Borough released more details Tuesday afternoon on the early morning fatal hit-and-run crash.

The crash happened at 12:12 a.m. when a Bristol Borough man was struck by a silver vehicle in the southbound lanes in the 200 block of Route 13, between Commerce Circle and Bath Street, police said.

The striking silver vehicle is suspected of traveling south toward the Croydon section of Bristol Township and Bensalem Township. The vehicle is believed to have a heavy front-end damage and a possible broken windshield, police said.

Officers and detectives continued to work the crash investigation as of Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they were withholding the name of the victim until family had been notified.

A man was struck and killed by a vehicle that left the scene of the crash early Tuesday.

The currently-unidentified man was struck shortly after midnight in the 200 block of Route 13, which sits between Bath Street and Commerce Circle, in Bristol Borough. The man was killed after being struck by a vehicle that left the scene, police Sgt. Joe Moors said.

Investigators were continuing to work to get more information on the fatal incident and locate the striking vehicle as of mid-morning Tuesday, Moors said.

The latest incident is one of several serious crashes along Route 13 this year. A pedestrian was badly hurt on Route 13 in Bristol Township on October 14, and a Bristol Borough firefighter was killed during still-unsolved hit-and-run crash while he was riding his bicycle on Route 13 in Bristol Township in June. On November 1, a bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Route 13 in Bristol Township.
