UPDATED: Woman Critically Hurt After Being Struck Along Route 13

A woman was in critical condition as of late Thursday night after she was struck along Route 13 in Bristol Township.

The 37-year-old woman from Bristol Township’s Croydon section was struck by a silver Jeep Latitude driven by a 33-year-old Bristol man around 7:05 p.m. near the Hammock Hotel on Route 13, which is just past the intersection of Route 13 and Green Lane, police said.

The 37-year-old woman was at Lower Bucks Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The 33-year-old man driving the Jeep stopped at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The preliminary investigation determined the woman was crossing Route 13 from the center median to the westbound lane. The striking Jeep was traveling in the southbound lanes of Route 13, police said.

There is not a marked pedestrian crossing in the spot where the crash happened, police said.

Route 13 in the area of the crash was closed for several hours. The woman’s belongings were spread across the roadway.

Police were assisted by fire police, the Bucks County Rescue Squad, and Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad.

A pedestrian was reported to be struck along Route 13 in Bristol Township Thursday evening.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the area of the Hammock Hotel, which is not far from the busy intersection of Route 13 and Green Lane.

Bystanders told LevittownNow.com that police and medics appeared to be aiding an injured person.

The person’s condition was not immediately available.

Officers were at the site as of 10 p.m. conducting a crash investigation. They were marking items along Route 13 and gathering photos of the scene.

Route 13 was blocked by fire police in the area of the crash late into the night.

Route 13 has seen numerous struck pedestrian crashes over the years, including after a recent overhaul that was designed to reduce risks to pedestrians.
