Ludo Coons died peacefully, after nearly 15 years of grand adventure and wonder on Wednesday, April 23, 2026.
Ludo was a good boy.
Ludo loved water. Whether it was a puddle, lake, the ocean, fighting over a baby pool with his human little sister, or snow, he loved the water. He would often just stand in the rain with his face up to the sky sniffing the air and feeling the water come down on him.
Ludo loved Christmas. He met Santa on many occasions, of whom he was a fan. Ludo loved waking up on Christmas morning to his stocking filled with fluffy toys, that would immediately be destroyed in 5 minutes. He would lay under the glow of the tree in his pile of stuffing with a crooked smile on his faceโฆ. happy.
Ludo loved music. We often would leave classical music playing while we were out for the day. But oddly enough he loved Limp Bizkit (an accidental discovery). When โBreak Stuffโ would come on Ludo would bark, jump, run around, and generally be a little crazy.
Ludo loved his family. Ludo was the first baby of the house for 3 years. When a new baby entered the house he was gentle and patient. He was the best fur brother to an otherwise only child. He went on adventures, partook in bubble fun, ran races, never missed a t-ball game, and endured countless hours of dress up. He spent his weekends and evenings sitting outback with his family, soaking up the warm sun or sitting by the fireโฆ patiently waiting for a graham cracker or two to fall.
Ludo was loved immensely and will be missed by his parents, Justin and Brandy, as well as his sister Maelyn and furry friend Daisy. His family knows when he walked over the rainbow bridge Ludo was greeted by his feline brothers, Creature and Bump.
To honor Ludo, the family encourages donations to be made to Wags Rescue, where Ludo himself was fostered through: https://wagsrescue.org/donate/. The family would also like to thank the Animal Hospital of Levittown for taking such good care of their sweet boy, assisting in making his final moments peaceful.
