A private advertising company’s new billboard at a busy intersection is nearly completed.
Cumberland County-based Premier Media is leasing a small piece of municipal property at the corner of East Lincoln Highway and South Flowers Mill Road outside of Fred Beans Hyundai of Langhorne and across the street from Brian’s Harley-Davidson in Middletown Township.

In recent weeks, crews put up Premier Media’s roughly 300-square-foot, one-sided billboard. The sign looks similar to a highway billboard but lower to the ground and with a rock-faced wall under it.
The new sign is smaller and not as neatly designed as the Middletown Monument advertising billboard at the corner of East Lincoln Highway and Oxford Valley Road. The Middletown Monument is located on private land and brings in no revenue outside of taxes to the township.
After a 3-2 vote in 2020, Middletown Township signed a 25-year lease for the sliver of township land where the billboard is located. The contract has brought in $1,000 per month until construction of the billboard is complete or until 24 months passes and will bring in $19,000 per year payment for the first five years with a 12.5 percent increase every five years. There is also going to be an escrow fund for landscaping of the site.

Township Solicitor James Esposito told the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors last year that Premier Media had said that if the supervisors did not grant the lease of their land they would just go across the street to Brian’s Harley-Davidson to use their property.
