The school board appointed Dr. Jeffrey S. Bader as a consultant to help fill the business manager position until the new business administrator begins full-time. He will be paid per diem rate of $575 and handle the daily operations of the business department.

The district’s business manager role will be filled full-time by Katie Marie Braun, who is currently working as the assistant business administrator for the Springfield Township School District in Montgomery County. The school board voted to hire her for a three-year term at $130,000. Her start date has not yet been determined.

The business administrator for the district handles all business affairs, budgeting, several departments, acts as school board secretary, and district open records officers, officials said.

Former Business Administrator Daniel Rodgers resigned in July to take a new job closer to his home in the Hazleton Area School District that spans Luzerne, Schuylkill, and Carbon counties.

At their meeting, the school board appointed Vincent DePaola Jr. and Ryan Regensburg to their new positions as assistant principals. DePaola will work at Pennwood Middle School and Regensburg has been assigned to Pennsbury High School.
