Middletown police Officer Melissa Robison said Tuesday’s National Night Out will have something for everyone.

National Night Out is a nationwide campaign to promote and encourage positive police and community interactions. Middletown has taken part for several years with last year being the first at the township complex.

Police plan to have local businesses, organizations and nonprofits on hand for National Night Out. A rock wall will be at the event along with food vendors, police demonstrations, the animal control officer, game stations and chances to win prizes.

“Any chance that the police department gets to interact with the community under positive circumstances is a chance we don’t want to miss,” Robison said. “This event promotes police, community and business partnerships to make Middletown Township a safer and more caring place to live.”

Non-perishable foods will be collected at the event for donation to local food banks. In addition, raffle tickets will benefit the upcoming Shop With A Cop event.

“We want the community to see all that the police department and its local businesses, organizations and charities have to offer. Come out for the food and fun, but most of all the friendship,” Robison said.

The event runs from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the township complex at 3 Municipal Way in Langhorne.

In Morrisville Borough, a National Night Out celebration will be held start starting at 6 p.m. at Williamson Park.
