Wednesday is the day that the Bristol Borough community will learn if they have won Deluxe Corporation’s Small Business Revolution.

The Small Business Revolution team will announce whether Bristol wins the competition at 2 p.m. during a live stream broadcast on Facebook. Bristol is competing against Georgetown, South Carolina; Kingsburg, California; North Adams, Massachusetts; and Red Wing, Minnesota.

The winning town will receive a $500,000 grant to help their small business community and be featured on the “Small Business Revolution” streaming series that airs on Hulu.

The results will be aired live at the Bristol Riverside Theatre in Radcliffe Street. Organizers said the event will open at 12:30 p.m. for the first 250 people who get tickets on a first come, first serve basis. A presentation will start at 1:15 p.m. and results will be aired live at 2 p.m.

Last week, Bill Pezza, chairman of Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar, said the riverfront town is a winner no matter what happens with the results. He credited the community for coming together to support one another.

“This is more than a contest and all about community,” he said.

In addition to the town coming together, Bristol has received a boost of publicity from the competition.

Thousands, likely even hundreds of thousands, of votes were cast for Bristol in the contest. Residents used multiple devices and even gathered at the community college, schools and libraries to cast their votes for Bristol.
