Everyone is invited to cheer on Bristol Borough Monday evening.

A county-wide rally is set for 7 p.m. Monday at the Goodwill Hose Company No.3 at Swain and Mifflin streets to help keep up momentum as voting for the Deluxe Corporation’s Small Business Revolution contest enters its final days. Organizers are inviting everyone from around the area and encouraging them to bring a friend.

On Sunday evening, Bill Pezza, chairman of Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar, revealed Bristol was leading the five other towns it is competing against by only 4,500 votes.

“We have a 4,500 vote lead that could evaporate quickly if we don’t hustle. In fact, we have to sustain and expand our support if we want to win,” Pezza posted in the Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar Facebook group.

Bristol is competing against Georgetown, South Carolina; Kingsburg, California; North Adams, Massachusetts; and Red Wing, Minnesota.

If the borough wins the money, the $500,000 grant will be put toward growing the small business community and marketing the town. Bristol would also get a nice boost from the exposure of being featured on the “Small Business Revolution” streaming series.

Organizes are hoping for a full house Monday evening.

Local businesses, government agencies, schools and residents are voting and encouraging their friends and co-workers to vote for Bristol every single day.

Voters can cast their ballot once a day from each browser on each device. This means that if a person has a phone, a tablet and a computer, they can vote from each internet browser on each device once every day.

Voting started Thursday, February 9 and runs until Thursday, February 16 at smallbusinessrevolution.org.
