Following a large fight and a threat that cancelled two basketball games, Harry S. Truman High School officials are implementing a new event policy.

Bristol Township School District officials announced Wednesday that a new policy was being implemented following the recent incidents. Starting January 17, the new policy will be put into place.

Here’s what the district said:

Beginning Tuesday, January 17, 2017 all spectators will be required show a photo ID for admittance into all sporting events. You may use your school ID or Driver’s License. Any spectator that is middle school or younger must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the event. Spectators will not be permitted entrance without a photo ID, no exceptions.

The move comes after boys and girls basketball games against Pennsbury High School were cancelled Tuesday following rumors of a planned fight linked to an in-school altercation  that happened Monday. In addition, a still under investigation fight broke out last month after a boys basketball game that pitted Bensalem against Truman.

“Based on past incidents which resulted in student safety concerns, and based on future optimism that our sport teams’ successes will draw numerous fans, we are putting this policy in place as a safeguard for everyone,” Truman Principal Lyndell Davis said.
