Man Crashes Car, Flees as it Bursts into Flames

A man driving a car reported to be stolen fled the burning vehicle after he crashed it in the area of Lewis Avenue in Falls Township.

The man lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fence, officials said. A witness told investigators he saw the man jump out of the burning vehicle and flee on foot around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Firefighters and police rushed to the scene. Crews from the Falls Township and Morrisville fire companies handled the fully-engulfed Chrysler 300, while police tracked down the man, Falls Fire Company Chief Mike McClellan told LevittownNow.com.

Officials were able to take the man into custody. As of press time, it is unknown if the man was injured of if police plan to charge him.
