An older-model car climbed a tree in the parking lot of the Giant Food Store on New Falls Road in Middletown Township late Monday morning.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 11:40 a.m. in the parking lot of the grocery store.
The car struck a tree in a parking lot island and went partly up the tree.
Firefighters were initially dispatched to the scene with police and the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, but most fire crews were recalled.

The driver was being treated by the ambulance crew.
The cause of the crash was not immediately reported.
Around the same time, an unrelated crash happened not far away at Bellaire Drive and Veterans Highway (Route 413). The wreck was listed by authorities as non-critical.
