As one of our readers, Jacki Pitkow asked late Friday night please report some happy news, and some indeed came our way to share this weekend.
It’s one of those stories that makes you proud in many ways to be a part of such a tuned in community that works very hard to support and help each other in times of need.ย And, also speaks to the power of how family pets affect us for the better.

A ย beautiful black labrador walked into the backyard of Dave and Bridget Rappe Saturday morning covered with icicles, no tags, but very distinct markings, they said yesterday from their home in Shadytree section of Bristol Township.
Bridget Rappe intuitively knew the lost dog was important to a family out there somewhere and the Rappes were determined to find the lost labs owner.

The Rappes, like so many others before them, reached out to the social media community for help in locating the owner of the lab they quickly nicknamed “Pretty Girl.” They also ย reached out to us here at LevittownNow.com and township officials.

Within a hour’s time though, during a number of Facebook message exchanges with this writer the ย story angle changed from lost dog to reunited with a happy ending that fits into the holiday season theme indeed.
The magnificent looking Lab’s name is Noel. Noel in French means Christmas, according to Google Translator, and it was a belated gift for all that Noel was reunited with her owners ย James Leonardi and his 9-year-old son Nate from Shadytree Lane, Levittown.

According to those in the know it was an “amazing homecoming.”
“Nate’s face was priceless when I opened the door and Noel was waiting for him,” the Rappes said.
“Credit has to also go to the Bristol Township police and animal control with ย helping to unite beloved pet and family,” they added.

A happy ending ย and story, ย indeed just as the holiday spirit leaves till next year.
