
The Pennsbury graduate who is competing in NBC’s “The Voice” won last night’s music battle on the hit show.
Matthew Schuler, a 2011 graduate of Pennsbury High School and former Sesame Place employee, faced off against contestant Jacob Poole during Tuesday night’s telecast. The two performed “”My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light ‘Em Up” by pop-punk band Fall Out Boy. The performance featured the two dueling the during the song.

“That was like a musical ass whipping,” judge Adam Levine, who also fronts popular group Maroon 5.
“You both are so beyond crazy talented,” judge and singer Christina Aguilera said. Both Schuler and Poole are on Aguilera’s team on the show.
She said the two were “consistent and on-point.” Moments later, she picked Schuler as the winner.

Schuler will now advance to the next round of the competition. It is not clear when he will next be on the show.
The 20-year-old made show history for the quickest time that all four judges hit their buttons. A hit of the button means they wanted Schuler on their team during his cover of Young the Giant’s 2011 hit single “Cough Syrup.”

It was announced Tuesday evening that mini-concert and meeting and greet set for this Friday in Yardley has been moved to the auditorium of Pennsbury High School East. Doors for the 7 p.m. will open at 6:30 p.m. Organizers say that tickets for the venue, which holds 500 people, will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Schuler is set to perform several original songs.
