
Hundreds came out Saturday night to The Committee For Electing Democrats and Uniting People (FEDUP) beef and beer event at the Italian Mutual Aid Fifth Ward Association on Wood Street in Bristol Borough.
Candidates forย Bristol Borough Council (BBC) and Bristol Borough School Board (BBSB) did a meet and greet with members of community pitching their platform and why โโฆthere needs to be changeโ David J. Chicilitti, former BBSB member and now candidate, said.

Neshaimny School Board President Richie Webb, Tullytown Borough Councilman Bryan Servis and ย retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge Lou Hornstine were among some of the notable attendees.
โIโm impressed by what I heard and saw tonight I like toย see the new faces coming on the scene,โ Webb, said.
The theme of the night was out with the old and in with the new.

Each candidate spoke for several minutes riling up the raucous crowd with assertions that the current ย boards are โpuppetsโฆ and we all know whose pulling those strings.โ (Referring to current Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe.)
Bristol High School was another hot topic for many of the candidates with rumors and allegations swirling there are plans to close it the very near future.

Master of ceremonies and councilman, ย Tony Devine, currently in a battle to obtain e-mails between current council and school board members, which he believes contain discussions about such a plan, said, weโll soon find out the truth about whatโs going on behind the scenes, tax payers have a right to know.
Council candidate Daryl Curtis, who will run against Councilwoman Betty Rodriguez for the west ward seat, read a letter he received from an anonymous sender chastising him for โโฆrunning against another minorityโฆand suggesting that he could have been โโฆthe first black on the school board.โ
Curtis, on Monday said, I donโt look it at that way, thatโs why itย doesn’tย bother me, Iโm about the whole community and working towards making it better, not just one part of it.โ

The letter in question, which LevittownNow.com obtained a copy of ย is unsigned and has a Philadelphia postmark. Curtis, when asked who he thought sent it, smiled and said ย I really have no idea, but I was warned this would happen, and thatโs why as a group the committee is FEDUP.
