Authorities in Lower Bucks County are investigating whether several different armed robberies at 7-Eleven stores in Bristol and Falls townships are connected.
The latest robberies occurred minutes apart and police are confident that the two are linked, Bristol Township Lt. Terry Hughes said.
Two black males with masks robbed the 7-Eleven in the 800 of Verterans Highway at knifepoint at 3:25 a.m. An employee at the store told investigators one of the suspects threatened to kill him, Hughes said.
As police and a Falls K-9 searched for the robbers, a report of a second robbery at the 7-Eleven at Route 13 and Edgely Road came in at 3:40 a.m., the lieutenant said.
Suspects matching the same description as the Veterans Highway incident robbed the Route 13 and Edgely Road convenience store at knifepoint, Hughes said.
The suspects make off with an undetermined about of money, Hughes told LevittownNow.com.
Police are searching for a gold Chevrolet Impala in connection with the two robberies.
Both Hughes and Falls Lt. Todd Pletnick said their departments are investigating whether Wednesday morning’s robberies are connected to two recent 7-Eleven robberies in Falls.
The most recent happened just after midnight last Monday at the store located in the 8000 block of Mill Creek Road, Falls police said.
In that robbery, two black males wearing hoodies, gloves and face masks jumped the counter while the clerk was tending to the coffee station and began smashing cash boxes on the floor. The clerk asked what they were doing and one of the suspects displayed a knife, police said.
The clerk told police two people appeared to be waiting outside for the suspects, who fled the area on foot and were last seen in the area of the Route 13 overpass.
No value of theft or damage was reported.
Earlier in March, Pletnick said a suspect with a mask robbed the 7-Eleven on West Trenton Avenue in the Morrisville section of the township with a silver handgun. Little additional information was available on that incident.
Hughes asks anyone with information on the Bristol Township robberies to call the department’s anonymous crime tip line at 215 788-8289.
The Falls Township Police Department are also asking persons with information on their two robberies to call detectives at 215-949-9100.
