A section of South Olds Boulevard is closed for more than three months for a total replacement of a failing culvert system.

The closure started Tuesday and affects South Olds Boulevard from Trenton Road to the culvert in Falls Township.
A social media post from the township said the road is scheduled to remain closed through mid-October while crews complete the project.
Detour signage is expected to be installed by next week.

Officials noted that all residents will still be able to access neighborhoods via the Oxford Valley Road intersection.
The culvert replacement project is being carried out as part of Falls Township’s summer road improvement program.

In addition to a complete overhaul of the degraded culvert system, the project includes the restoration of the road surface.
Township officials have had the replacement in development since 2018.
