

Pennsylvania State Police were involved in two vehicle pursuits in the Levittown area last week, according to press releases.

The first chase happened last Thursday, July 17, at approximately 1:54 a.m.
A trooper attempted to stop a black 2009 Acura TSX near the intersection of New Falls Road and Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Bristol Township, state police said.
The driver fled and led troopers on a chase that went from Veterans Highway to Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township, and then onto I-295 westbound, state police said.

The pursuit was called off by troopers when speeds hit more than 125 mph during rainy conditions, troopers said.
State police said the investigation into the chase is ongoing.

The second chase took place early last Saturday, July 19, at 1:30 a.m.
Troopers said they are aware of reports of multiple vehicle thefts in the Levittown area, an issue that Bristol Township police reported last week.
A stolen vehicle related to the thefts was spotted by troopers on Veterans Highway near Bath Road, state police said.

When a trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled onto I-95 southbound, then to Woodhaven Road, before re-entering I-95 South and heading into Philadelphia, state police said.
The pursuit was terminated in the area of I-95 and Aramingo Avenue in the city due to safety concerns for all involved.
