Three people were killed after being struck by a southbound Amtrak Acela high-speed train in Bristol Borough on Thursday evening.
At 5:58 p.m., Bristol Borough police were dispatched to the area of Beaver and Prospect streets near the train station following reports of individuals on the train tracks. An officer responding to the scene arrived as the train struck the three people, Chief of Police Joe Moors said.

Officials confirmed that all three victims were deceased.
A law enforcement source said one of the victims was an adult and one or both of the other victims were minors.

Further information on the victims was not released as the coroner processed the scene.

Several people who reported knowing the victims were watching emergency crews handle the incident.

Kimberly Woods, a senior spokesperson for Amtrak, told LevittownNow.com the striking train had been traveling from Boston to Richmond, Virginia, when the people came onto the track.

Amtrak passengers were transported from the scene by bus, officials said.
