

A man arrested for failing to comply with Megan’s Law as a sexually violent predator was among three people taken into custody after police executed a search warrant at a Middletown Township home last week, police said.

Thomas Palaio, 22, of Middletown Township, was arrested last Friday on a charge of failing to comply with Megan’s Law and a probation violation, according to the Middletown Township Police Department.
Police executed the warrant at a home on the 1600 block of Ramble Road last Friday.
Upon entering the residence, officers found “dangerous living conditions” and contacted the Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s Office and the Middletown Township Building and Zoning Department.

The home was subsequently condemned for human occupancy due to life, health and safety risks, police said.

The Bucks County SPCA and Middletown Township Police Department Animal Control also responded and obtained a separate warrant to seize all animals from the home, police said.

All three individuals arrested will face animal neglect charges, police said.
The three were remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
A man was also arrested on a domestic assault warrant and a woman on a domestic relations warrant at the home.

According to court documents, Pennsylvania State Police notified Middletown Township police that Palaio was allegedly noncompliant for failing to appear for sex offender status verification in January.
On Feb. 11, Middletown Township police reported they talked with Palaio at the Ramble Road home and informed him of the need to verify his status with state police.

Palaio claimed he had not received mail regarding verification and stated he would check in with state police, law enforcement officials said.
Last Thursday, state police informed Middletown Township police that Palaio had not checked in and remained noncompliant.

Palaio was previously arrested in 2022 in a child pornography-related case. He fled Middletown Township and was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in Tennessee.
