Falls Township’s annual Touch a Truck event last Saturday provided a day of fun for children but also a boost to local charities.

The event raised a total of $30,000 in donations for two nonprofits.

Since its inception seven years ago, Touch a Truck has raised over $100,000 for local charities.

The proceeds from this year’s event were evenly split between two charities: The Goofy Gators, a nonprofit supporting the autism community within Falls Township, and The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation, which provides financial aid to families across the Delaware Valley facing hardships due to tragedy or adversity.

The event was organized by the townshipโ€™s Parks and Recreation Department and Supervisor Jeff Boraski.

โ€œWe are proud of the continued success of our Touch a Truck event and appreciate the ongoing support of our sponsors,โ€ Boraski said. โ€œOur Touch a Truck committee will announce soon how nonprofit organizations can be selected as benefactors for future events.โ€

The weekend fun featured a variety of vehicles โ€” from police and fire engines to school buses and heavy machinery. Children had the opportunity to explore these vehicles, learning about their roles in first response, construction, and more, while also enjoying activities such as balloon twisting and bounce houses.
