Motorcyclist Dies In Tuesday Crash

A 46-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday evening after a crash on busy Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.

Bristol Township police were called for the report of a crash near the 4000 block of Veterans Highway near New Falls Road at approximately 5:58 p.m.

A 2015 Volkswagen Jetta was stopped in the center left-turn lane while traveling northbound when police said a 2001 Harley-Davidson traveling southbound entered the center turn lane to bypass traffic and struck the front driver’s side corner of the Volkswagen.

The motorcyclist was transported by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad to Lower Bucks Hospital, police said.

The motorcyclist he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Police did not yet released the man’s name.

The driver of the Volkswagen remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, police said.

Bristol Township police were assisted at the scene by the William Penn Fire Company, Bristol Township Fire Police, and the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad.

The Bristol Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is leading the investigation.
