

The postponement due to rain didn’t dampen the spirits at Middletown Township’s rescheduled National Night Out celebration Tuesday evening.

A sizable crowd gathered at the Middletown Township Municipal Complex to check out more than 70 vendors, meet emergency responders, see Sesame Place characters, play games, and visit with community groups.
There was police motorcycle demonstrations, a fire company vehicle rescue showcase, and a flyover by the Philadelphia Police Department’s helicopter unit.

Falls Township and Penndel Borough also held their rescheduled events on Tuesday.

Bristol Borough police will hold their rescheduled event at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
National Night Out was established in 1984 and was designed to grow community-police partnerships, promote neighborhood unity, and provide crime prevention education. Traditionally held on the first Tuesday of August, the annual event attracts approximately 38 million attendees across the U.S., Canada, and American military facilities worldwide.
