Thirteen outstanding contributors to Bristol Township’s athletic legacy are set to be inducted in its Athletic Hall of Fame.

The group comprises athletes, coaches, and distinguished service award recipients who have made noteworthy contributions to Bristol Township School District’s sports history.
The banquet and induction ceremony is scheduled for October 7 at 6 p.m.
The event will be held at the renowned Georgineโs Restaurant in Bristol Township.

Tickets for the event are priced at $40. Those wishing to attend should mark their calendars, as reservations must be made by September 22 to secure a spot.

According to the district, the 2023 inductees are:
Distinguished Service: Wendy Thayres
For 21 years, Wendy Thayres was the true administrative assistant to seven different athletic directors. Overseeing athletics and co-curricular activities, the Varsity Club and Student Council, she was a mainstay of the Athletic Department.
Distinguished Service: Palmer Toto
An All-State point guard for Bloomsburg State College from 1966-1969 and a recipient of the Markward Award, Palmer Toto began his teaching and coaching career at Woodrow Wilson H.S. He was the Trentonianโs Coach of the Year and led the boys basketball team to a Bucks County League Championship, as well as the quarterfinals of the PIAA Championship. He retired as the Director of Guidance and Counseling in 2018.

Patricia Balcomb, Wilson 1967 โ Softball, bowling
Patti Balcomb was team captain of the LBCL championship softball team in 1967. She has been inducted into the Lower Bucks County Bowling Hall of Fame, Trenton Suburban Bowling Hall of Fame and the Womenโs All Star Association Hall of Fame. She has a 300 game and two 298 games to her credit.
Max Moore, Wilson 1970 โ Basketball, soccer
An All Lower Bucks County selection for two years, as well as an All-Area athlete, Max Moore was the Courier Times Player of the Year in Lower Bucks County 1969-70. He was the fifth all- time leading scorer for Wilson and was named to the Bucks County All Stars in the Coaches Round Table Tournament.

Earl Williams, Wilson 1970ย – Basketball
Earl Williams was the third all -time leading scorer for Wilson. He was consistently named to the First Team All Lower Bucks Section One both junior and senior years, the All Area team and an all-star on the Coaches Round Table Team. After a college career at Winston Salem, Williams played professional basketball for four years in the NBA and 11 years overseas in Israel, Italy and Sweden. He is in the Israeli Hall of Fame.
Gary Miles, Wilson 1975 โ Football, baseball
The LBCL batting champion in 1975 with a .489 average, Gary Miles led the league with 22 hits and an eleven game hitting streak. He was selected to the Second Team All-League at first base. He was also a tri-captain of Wilson football, playing behind two Hall of Fame quarterbacks.

Butch Oberlander, Truman 1984 – Track and field, cross country
Butch Oberlander received All -League First Team and All-Area honors for three years in cross country. He medaled at the PIAA State championships three times. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he went on to teach and coach high school track and field, and cross country in Bristol Township School District.
Adam Bryant, Truman 1990 – Baseball
As a pitcher for Truman H.S., Adam Bryant received the Excellence in Athletics Award. He was selected as the MVP in the Wissahickon High School Tournament in 1990. At Virginia Commonwealth University from 1991-1994, he holds several records for most saves and most wins, as well as the Rolaids Relief Award. He was a Most Valuable Player Carpenter Cup selection and was drafted into the Major Leagues by the Cincinnati Reds.

Jason Woods, Truman 1993 – Soccer, tennis
An outstanding mid-fielder and leader on the soccer team since his sophomore year, Jason Woods was named to the Second Team All-league in both junior and senior years when he was co-captain and captain, respectively. He was a walk-on to the Temple University team and then received a scholarship there. He was honored as the athlete most representative of Temple University sports in 1997.
Dewanda Legette, Truman 1996 โ Track and field
Dewanda โDee Deeโ Legette excelled in so many aspects of track and field from the time she was a ninth grader. She ran in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays, competed in the long jump, triple jump, the 100m, 200m and 300m hurdles, for which she was featured many times in the Bucks County Courier Times. Legette holds the record for the fastest 100m hurdle time in Truman history (14.7). She ran the first leg of the first place Penn Relays 4×100 team in 1991. A MSgt. in the United States Air Force for 20 years, she continued to receive many honors, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Steve Cousin, Truman 2001 – Track and field
After winning the Suburban One League Championship, District One Championship, and Indoor and Outdoor State Championships in the triple jump, it is no wonder that Steve Cousin was named the Bucks County Courier Times Athlete of the Year in Track and Field 2001. He currently holds Trumanโs triple jump record set in the 1980โs. At the University of Connecticut on a partial track and field scholarship, Cousin and his teammates won both the Indoor Big East Championship and the Outdoor Big East Championship in 2001.

DโAndre Webb, Truman 2006 โ Football
DโAndre Webb was named to the Suburban All-League First Team in 2006 and the Bucks County Courier Times Golden 22 Football Team as well. He rushed for 1,000 yards in back-to-back years, scoring 12 touchdowns in 2005 and 13 touchdowns in 2006. During his college career he was part of the PSAC East Championship teams in 2007 and 2008.
Quinton Bryant, Truman 2011ย โ Football, wrestling, track and field
A three-sport athlete, Quinton Bryant was honored in all three as well as being selected to the PIAA District One All-Academic Team in 2010. He was a 2010 LBC Football Coaches Roundtable Award recipient, Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association District Champion Bronze Medalist and the Suburban One League Champion discus thrower. Quinton was interviewed by ESPN and featured in ESPN Rise Magazine. During his college career at Delaware Valley University, he received the Exceptional Athlete Award.ย
