School districts in Bucks County and across Pennsylvania and the nation have recently received bomb threats that are being made anonymously.

Officials from the Bristol Township, Neshaminy, and Pennsbury school districts said their schools didn’t receive the threats, but law enforcement across the county were monitoring the situation.
Pennsbury School District Superintendent Dr. Thomas Smith wrote to parents that the district was working with local police as a precaution.
School districts in Upper Bucks County and the New Hope-Solebury School District did receive threats, but they were deemed not credible.

“Our district received an email threat regarding explosives which had been allegedly placed in our schools. Many Bucks County schools were copied on this same email,” the New Hope-Solebury School District wrote in a letter to parents.
Law enforcement officials told LevittownNow.com the threats are thought to be hoaxes and hit Bucks County and Montgomery County on Thursday.

Bensalem Township police said the threats haven’t just targeted schools, but also Jewish centers and airports.
A Bucks County school administrator, who wasn’t authorized to speak to the media, said Pennsylvania State Police and federal law enforcement were aware of the threats across the state.
Several law enforcement officials said the threats were hoaxes. The Pennsylvania Criminal Intelligence Center in Harrisburg was aware of the threats.

Threats delivered virtually and anonymously to schools, businesses, libraries, and religious institutions have been frequent in recent years. Due to evolving technology, the cases can often be hard for police to solve.
In July, federal law enforcement arrested and charged an out-of-state man with making threats targeting the Jewish community in the region.
