Historic Bristol Borough on the Delaware has been a site of recreation venues for the people of the area for centuries and one event in particular is reminiscent of the great fairs held in town during the colonial period.

There are a plethora of LAND & WATER plusses in attending an annual event in this beautiful riverside town.

The 11th Annual Historic Bristol Day Car Show at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School, 450 Beaver Street, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This renowned show will as always include all American and foreign antiques, classics, newer Corvettes, Camaros, Firebirds, Mustangs, Challengers, Chargers, T-Birds, street rods, exotics, luxury cars, and more. Attendees are invited to vote for their choices of favorite antique and classic car and People’s Choice trophies will be awarded based on voting results.

A new feature has been added this year to give attendees a taste of what car guys did back in the sixties when leaded gas was about 28 cents per gallon for regular and 32 cents per gallon for hi –test, filling a tank for $5 or $6 and cruising around Bristol all night. At 3 p.m, after distribution of the trophies and chancing off restaurant gift certificates, a police escorted cruise through Bristol will begin. Younger participants can get a flash back to the sixties when muscle cars ruled the road!
