Man Badly Hurt In Pickup Vs. Tractor-Trailer Crash

A man was seriously hurt in a crash that involved a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer.

The crash happened on Woodbourne Road at Cobalt Cross Road in Middletown Township’s Levittown section at 5:45 p.m. Friday.

Police, firefighters, and medics responded to the scene and found the driver of the pickup truck entrapped.

When they arrived, firefighters got to work and it took about 10 minutes extricate the injured pickup truck driver from the vehicle, William Penn Fire Company Deputy Chief Jim Bampfield said.

The badly-injured pickup truck driver was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center’s trauma center by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, Bampfield said.

Woodbourne Road was blocked in the area of the crash for some time.

The William Penn and Levittown No. 2 fire companies responded to the scene.
