The high schoolโ€™s East Campus has been transformed into a cross-country tour as the Class of 2026 hosts its prom, which is themed “Road Trip Across America.”

The event, which has earned a national reputation as the “Best Prom in America,” is the culmination of a year of intense planning and decorating by students, faculty, parents, and local volunteers.

Pop star Jesse McCartney is slated to headline the eveningโ€™s entertainment, according to a social media announcement by the Pennsbury School District.

The “Beautiful Soul” singer follows in a long tradition of high-profile artists who have historically taken the stage at Pennsbury proms, including John Mayer, Natasha Bedingfield, The Plain White Tโ€™s, The Sugarhill Gang, Questlove, and DJ Pauly D of MTVโ€™s “Jersey Shore.”

The dance itself is closed to the public, but the community is invited to participate in the festivities through two long-standing events.

The public walk-through is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. sharp.

During the walk-through, the district opens the first floor of the building to allow residents of all ages and returning alumni to view the extensive, floor-to-ceiling decorations. The detailed displays cover everything from the two-story entry foyer and hallways to the gymnasium, student dining room, and the boys’ and girls’ bathrooms.

The walk-through events are usually busy, so be sure to show up early.

Later in the day, the focus shifts to the public prom arrival parade, which runs from 5 p.m. until approximately 7 p.m.

Spectators will line the campus access road that connects Pennsbury High School West to Pennsbury High School East, cheering on prom-goers as they arrive in creative and unusual modes of transportation.

The parade route, which concludes with a traditional red carpet walk at the entrance of East, is easily accessible near intersections of South Olds Boulevard and Queen Anne Drive, or Hood Boulevard and New Falls Road.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday afternoon will feature sunny skies with a high temperature near 70 degrees, accompanied by sustained 15 mph winds and gusts that could reach up to 30 mph. By the evening, conditions are expected to turn cloudy with lighter winds and a low temperature around 50 degrees.

The night will also feature an interactive hypnotist show scheduled several times throughout the evening, plenty of photo-op vignettes, and the formal crowning of the Prom Royals before the event concludes at 12:30 a.m.

The massive undertaking relies on the cooperation of scores of community members, parents, and alumni. This year’s prom is led by advisors Maggie Weber, Amanda Durham, Lindsay Gebeau, Jana VanBuskirk, and Kim Krajci, alongside entertainment coordinator MaryAnn Daley.

Oversight for the 2026 prom is provided by Pennsbury High School Campus Principal Reggie Meadows and Assistant Principal Pete Carfagno.
