
Pennsylvania State Police this week released details on a July burglary that happened in Penndel Borough.
Troopers said they were called around 10:30 p.m. on July 4 to the 500 block of Hulmeville Avenue in the borough for a report of a robbery.

The 63-year-old resident of the home told troopers said awoke to find a man inside her bedroom and removing jewelry boxes. She began to fight with the suspect as he held a jewelry box, state police said.
The suspect forcefully took the jewelry box and ran out of the front door of the Hulmeville Avenue home. He disappeared into the night, state police said.
Troopers said the suspect made entry to the home through a kitchen window.

The resident was unhurt in the scuffle with the burglar.
The suspect made off with costume jewelry and a gold-trim jewelry box. The total value was about $500.

The suspect was described as an approximately 5-foot-8 white male of thin build who was between the ages of 17 to 25. The suspect was clean shaven, had short dark hair, and was wearing a light-colored T-shirt and gloves.
Troopers said the case remains under investigation as of this week.
Last week, Penndel Borough police said they were investigating an attempted burglary also in the 500 block of Hulmeville Avenue. It was not released whether the two burglaries are believed to be connected.
