Authorities are investigating a death at a Bristol Borough homeless encampment.

Medics and police were called to a wooded area off the Delaware Canal State Park by Green Lane in Bristol Borough around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Crews arrived to find a man deceased at one of the camps in the woods, sources said.
Bristol Borough police Lt. Joe Moors, the incoming chief, said a person was found deceased off the towpath, but the incident remains under investigation as of Friday morning.
There were no obvious signs of injury, but the coroner has to complete an autopsy.

A bystander told LevittownNow.com emergency workers used to the canal towpath to access to the camp during periods of heavy rain.
There are several homeless camps in the woods off the towpath in the borough.
