The derailment along Delmorr Avenue happened around 1 a.m. Friday when multiple cars carrying corn syrup went off the tracks, Morrisville Borough Chief of Police Rich Ciampa said.

“There were no reported injuries, and officers did not observe any leaks, spills, or other releases from the railcars,” the chief said. “Conrail personnel remain on scene and are working to assess the damage and coordinate the equipment and resources necessary to reposition the affected railcars.”
The chief said there is no threat to public safety.
A Conrail spokesperson said five rail cars derailed from the tracks.
“The cars are upright, and not leaking. There are no injuries. Railroad officials are on site and investigating the matter,” the spokesperson said.

A freight train derailed early Friday morning and forced the closure of several roads in Morrisville Borough.
Several cars of a Conrail freight train left the tracks along Delmorr Avenue in the early morning hours.

Authorities issued no public safety warnings related to the derailment.

Due to the derailment, Delmorr Avenue is closed to traffic between East Philadelphia Avenue and Moreau Street. Additionally, Green Street is blocked off from Grove Street to Delmorr Avenue.
Morrisville Borough police said the road closures are expected to remain in effect throughout Friday.

Bucks County spokesperson James O’Malley said county officials are monitoring the situation and directed further inquiries to Conrail and local officials.
