During their Thursday’s evening meeting, Bristol Township Council approved an across-the-board $4 per hour pay raise for 15 crew members covered by TWU Local 282.
Township Manager Randee Elton said the pay raise is well deserved and future discussions will take place as the contract is up next year.
“There will be major conversations about that,” she said.

Charlie Dearnley, Bristol Township’s public works director, said the crews deserve the extra money.
Since Dearnley took over the department, workers have raised the issue of pay, noting township crews are paid 30 to 40 percent less than surrounding municipalities.

“I’m very happy because they’re very happy,” Elton said of the crew.
