Neshaminy High School Select Choir Wins Radio Station Contest


The Neshaminy High School Select Choir won a Philadelphia radio station’s Christmas Choir Competition.

Station B-101 hosted the contest that featured numerous schools competing for the top prize.

The Middletown Township high schoolers’ performance of “What Christmas Means to Me” won the contest. The announcement was made Friday morning during the Jenn and Bill show.

The school’s music program will receive $5,000 and the select choir will perform at a Philly Pops concert at the Kimmel Cultural Campus in Philadelphia this month. The choir’s song will also be aired on B-101.

Select Choir Director Kristin Nichols told the radio show hosts the students will be thrilled to hear they won. She praised the efforts made by the students.

The prize money will be put toward wireless microphones for the choir, Nichols said.

Ridley High School won second place and nearby Council Rock High School North won third.
