Police in New Jersey are seeking information on a man who allegedly hit a police officer with a pickup truck stolen out of a Bristol.
Evesham, New Jersey police said they were conducting a property check at a business on Sunday around 3:35 a.m. when an officer spotted a man slumped over the steering wheel of a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

“During the investigation, the male regained consciousness and the officer suspected that the unknown male had operated the vehicle under the influence of illegal drugs. The male suspect became combative, refusing to exit the vehicle and fled the scene in the motor vehicle,” police said in a statement.
As the man was fleeing, the pickup truck he was driving struck a Evesham police officer, authorities said.
Officers followed in pursuit and noted the pickup truck was being operated in a “reckless manner,” police said.

The pickup truck was discovered to be reported stolen out of Bristol, police said.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled and the man fled on foot, police said.

A large perimeter was established and multiple police agencies responded to search for the suspect. A New Jersey State Police helicopter assisted in the search, but the wanted man was not located, police said.
The officer who was struck suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene by fire department personnel.
In their statement, police said the suspect was a white male with a black beard who was between 30 to 40 years old. He wore a white T-shirt with a blood stain on the abdomen, shorts, yellow flip-flops, and a black wool hat with the tag still attached. The suspect had distinct tattoos – one on the right inside forearm with dark-colored flowers and a colored heart with the name “Olivia” on the left shoulder.
