New COVID-19 cases in Bucks County slightly increased last week.
Looking at Pennsylvania Department of health data, Bucks County had 1,032 new infections last week, an increase over the 983 reported the week prior. The rise marked a roughly 5 percent increase in new cases.

The COVID-19 test positivity rate in the county fell from 6.9 percent to 6.4 percent. A test positivity rate higher than 5 percent means health experts consider the spread uncontrolled.
As of Monday, hospitalizations of Bucks Countians with COVID-19 rose slightly over the past week with 61 people in area hospitals. Of those 61 patients, 11 were in intensive care, according state data.
Last week, there were five COVID-19 deaths reported in Bucks County.

The Bucks County Health Department reported that at least 89 children newborn to age 12 tested positive for COVID-19, while there were 77 cases among kids ages 12 to 18 between September 20 to September 24.
The number of new COVID-19 vaccinations in Bucks County continued to decline, but third doses and booster shot numbers continued to expand.

The county had about 2,000 more people become fully vaccinated last week, according to state health department data.
A total of 38,984 Bucks Countians were partially vaccinated and 332,726 were fully vaccinated at the start of this week, according to state data.
About 60 percent of Bucks County’s eligible population is fully vaccinated.

Among the Philadelphia collar counties, Bucks County stayed in third place out of the four collar counties in vaccination rates. Delaware County continued to lag behind Bucks County, with Montgomery and Chester counties ahead. The Philadelphia collar counties all reported higher vaccination rates than most places in the state.
Recent state data showed that nearly all people who died of COVID-19 or were hospitalized with the novel virus in recent months were not fully vaccinated.
