Levittown Man Accused Of Stealing From Tracks Of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor

A man is facing charges brought by local and federal authorities after a series of incidents along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.

Guy Kenneth Fesko Jr., 37, has been charged with aggravated assault, theft, possession of an instrument of crime, damage to railroad property, possession of a controlled substance, and defiant trespass in a fenced or enclosed area.

Last Saturday afternoon, Tullytown Borough police were called to the area of Tullytown Metal and Iron for a report of a man being detained by a civilian after a report of a theft of wire. Fesko was identified as the man being detained, and it was determined he was wanted by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, police said.

The civilian told police, according to court papers, that he spotted Fesko on Amtrak property unbolting something and walking away with wire. Fesko approached the civilian with tin snips and the good Samaritan warned him he would defend himself.

While being arrested, Fesko reportedly made comments to a Tullytown Borough officer about cutting wire, police said.

Amtrak police have been investigating thefts and criminal mischief along the Northeast Corridor, the nation’s busiest passenger rail line, in the Levittown area recently.

At the police station, Amtrak investigators and borough police asked Fesko if he wished to speak with them. He declined, according to court papers.

Amtrak police suspect Fesko was behind a March 29 theft of equipment from the Amtrak line, which is also used by the SEPTA Trenton Regional Rail line, along Garden Street in Bristol Borough. The equipment, according to authorities, was “vital to safe railroad operations.”

They also suspect he was behind the early April burglary of a computerized instrument hut in Bristol Township’s Croydon section. In that incident, a radio was stolen.

Fesko was also allegedly behind damage in mid-April to a storage shed on the Bristol Borough and Bristol Township border off North Wilson Avenue. There was 50 to 100 feet of old trolley wire stolen.

Around the same time, Amtrak police received word of a wire theft in Croydon. About 10 to 12 feet of copper wire was stolen, police said.

Days after Fesko’s arrest, Amtrak discovered more wire was cut in the area of the Randall Avenue bridge in Bristol Township’s Edgely section. The wire was cut in a similar fashion to other incidents believed to be carried out by the defendant, police said.

Due to recent thefts, Amtrak police installed a camera system that captured images of a suspect who appeared to resemble Fesko, police said.

The recent incidents were similar in nature, according to Amtrak investigators.

There were thousands of dollars in damage to Amtrak equipment in the incidents Fesko is charged with being behind, police said.

Amtrak investigators reported in court papers that they found lock pliers, a needle, suspected heroin, hardware that is used on Amtrak equipment, and gloves similar to those used by track workers in Fesko’s belongings. A search of an area where Fesko was spotted led to the discovery of equipment that matched what was found in Fesko’s backpack, police said.

Fesko was arraigned Thursday morning by Senior District Judge Leonard Brown. He was sent to the county prison on 10 percent of $15,000.
