Bucks County Community College has named its next president.
Dr. Felicia L. Ganther will replace current community college President Dr. Stephanie Shanblatt come July 1 when she retires.

Ganther, a native of Los Angeles who has a doctorate degree in community resources and development from Arizona State University and a law degree from University of Illinois at Chicago’s John Marshall Law School, was selected unanimously by the Bucks County Community College Board of Trustees.
“Dr. Ganther has a remarkable record of accomplishments, both as an educator, administrator, and as a strong advocate for students. She has extensive experience in crisis management, retention initiatives, student life, strategic planning and academic quality improvement,” according to a statement from the trustees
“We are delighted Dr. Felicia Ganther will be joining Bucks County Community College as our next president. The board entered this process wanting to select an individual with a strong vision and a commitment to our students, faculty, alumni and staff, as well as the ability to expand the relationship we have with the community,” Board of Trustees Chair David Breidinger said.

Ganther will come to Bucks County from her role as associate vice chancellor of student affairs at the Maricopa County Community College District, which educates more than 200,000 students in Phoenix and its suburbs each year.
Ganther will be Bucks County Community College’s fifth president in the school’s 57-year history.

Shanblatt, the outgoing president, will work with Ganther for a smooth transition by July 1.

Shanblatt joined the community college in 2012 after working as provost at Lansing Community College in Michigan. She filled the role after Dr. James Linksz retired and has overseen improvements and expansion of the campuses and offerings, while also leading the institution through the pandemic.
The trustees conducted a national search for the next president.

They hired executive search firm Greenwood/Asher and Associates to assist. A search committee was also appointed.
“Institutions of higher education are facing a distinctive set of challenges associated with the pandemic. With Dr. Ganther’s leadership and enthusiasm, we will achieve our mission and continue to grow Bucks’ reputation as one of the pre-eminent colleges in the nation,” said Trustee Blake Eisenhart, who led the search committee.
