A Winter Storm Warning was issued as a storm moved toward the region.
The National Weather Service issued a forecast calling for snow to begin around 5 a.m. or 6 a.m. Thursday in the Levittown area. The area is predicted to get 4 to 6 inches of snow, with the storm mostly ending by late Thursday night.

“Snow develops early Thursday morning, and may become heavy at times through early Thursday afternoon with hourly snowfall rates up to 1 inch possible. This is when road conditions would rapidly deteriorate and become hazardous, especially with temperatures below freezing,” forecasters said in a briefing.
The storm is one in a number of recent systems that have dropped snow.
Area towns have issued snow emergencies and schools have altered plans for Thursday.
