Is My Town Under A Snow Emergency?

As another snow storm is set to hit the area, local municipalities are declaring snow emergencies ahead of the first flakes.

Bristol Borough

Once again, Bristol Borough Police will be issuing a “Snow Emergency,” for Mill Street and the 100 Block of Radcliffe Street. The street will be posted Wednesday evening. Vehicles must removed prior to 11pm Wednesday evening February 17, 2021. No parking will remain in affect through Thursday until the storm has ended and the road has been cleared. The Bristol Borough Police and Public Works Department appreciates the publics cooperation during this snow event.

Bristol Township

A Snow Emergency has been declared for Bristol Township in anticipation of the forecasted snowfall. The snow emergency begins at 06:00am Thursday, February 18, 2021 and ends at 11:59pm on Friday, February 19, 2021 subject to change depending on the track of the incoming weather.

During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all designated Snow Emergency routes and on all Township roadways where residents have access to off-street parking. No person shall operate a vehicle upon any street without chains or all-weather tires.

Any vehicles parked, stalled, incapable of moving or left unattended on any street, may be removed or towed by the Police Department. No person shall deposit snow upon any street.

Please try to limit travel during the anticipated storm. You can monitor weather forecasts at www.weather.gov. If you lose power, please report the outage directly to PECO at 1-800-841-4141.

The following are Snow Emergency Routes:

Bath Road – From New Rodgers Road to Route 13

Bristol-Oxford Valley Road – From New Falls Road to Lakeland Avenue

Cedar Avenue – From Route 13 to State Road

Edgely Road – From New Falls Road to Route 13

Ford Road – From Bath Road to Hilltop Avenue

Green Lane – From Mill Creek Road to Route 13

Levittown Parkway – From New Falls Road to the Tullytown Borough line

Mill Creek Road – From Levittown Parkway to Bristol-Oxford Valley Road

New Falls Road – From Hood Boulevard to Durham Road

Newport Road – From I-95 to Route 13

Veteran’s Highway – From Ford Road to Route 13

Olds Boulevard – From Queen Anne Road to Oxford Valley Road

River Road – From State Road to Cedar Avenue

Route 13 – From Cedar Avenue to Haines Road

State Road – Rt. 413 to Browns Lane

Snow Emergency routes roads receive highest priority in plowing and de-icing. Major Intersections, Section Entrances, Passes and Drives are then cleared. In accordance with Township ordinances, all vehicles parked on a township street or right-of-way MUST be removed within two hours after snow or sleet falls in sufficient amounts to form, lay upon and cover the street surface so as to permit unimpeded access and passage by snow and ice removal equipment. The Police Department is authorized to issue citations to any vehicle left on the streets and rights-of-way two (2) hours after snow or sleet falls.

During winter storms there are many ways residents are able to help provide thorough and efficient snow removal services. The following is a list of Doโ€™s and Donโ€™ts for residents to follow during snow/ice storms. Following these guidelines will help provide safe passage for everyone.

DO:

Clear the sidewalk in front of your home within 12 hours (required by Municipal Ordinance)Move vehicles from the street into your driveway to not obstruct Municipal Snowplows.

Clear fire hydrants of snow and ice so they are visible and quickly accessible.

Clear all vehicle windows of snow and ice BEFORE operating the vehicle (required by PA Vehicle Code)Clear sufficient space to accommodate garbage and recycling containers.

Help elderly or disabled neighbors that may not be able to clear snow as required.

Delay unnecessary travel until after roads have been cleared.

DO NOT:

Place snow from driveways or sidewalks into the roadway (prohibited by Municipal Ordinance)Leave vehicles on or near the road in a manner that will hinder snowplow activities.

Falls Township

Falls Township has declared a Snow Emergency for Thursday, 2/18/21 starting at midnight, expiring on Friday, 2/19/21 at 6 p.m. All vehicles, boats, trailers, etc. must be moved off of all township streets and onto your property to allow the road crew and emergency services access down all streets.

Langhorne Borough

Please be advised that the Mayor has declared a snow emergency for Langhorne Borough beginning at 12:01am on Thursday, February 18 through 9:00am on Friday, February 19, 2021.

We are expecting significant snow fall. Please follow the snow emergency regulations and move cars off the street so the plows can clear the streets as needed. 

During a snow emergency all vehicles, trailers, etc. are to be off all streets in the Borough until 24 hours after the snow has stopped or the Mayor removes the snow emergency. If the snow is an overnight event it is best to move your vehicles before the snow begins. If cars are not moved you may be fined and the police may tow vehicles for the safety of our community.

Please be aware that property owners are required to remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 24 hours after the snow has stopped falling. Do not plow, push, blow or shovel snow into the street.

Penndel Borough

The Mayor has declared a snow emergency for today’s storm effective immediately and ending at 9:00am Friday 2/19/21. Please remove all vehicles from streets to allow plows to remove snow. Non-removal can result in being ticketed and/or towed. Please clean all sidewalks within 12 hours after snow ceases to fall.

Tullytown Borough

Emergency Management Message: MAYOR CUTCHINEAL HAS ISSUED A SNOW / ICE EMERGENCY for Tullytown Borough beginning February 18, 2021 @ 6am through February 19, 2021 @ 2pm unless earlier rescinded. We are asking residents to remove all vehicles from the streets to assist our public works department.
