Neshaminy has been offering four-day per week in-person learning and also a virtual-only option for kids.

Superintendent Dr. Rob McGee said the middle schools and high school could return in-person students to classrooms five days a week starting Monday, April 5 as the hybrid model ends. Elementary schools would move to five day per week instruction starting the week of March, March 8.

The district will continue COVID-19 safety measures, but some desks could be closer than 3 feet of distance depending on how many students opt for in-person learning.

Middle and high school parents will have to commit to either in-person or all-virtual learning for their students by March 12. Their decision will last through the rest of the school year and assist is adding stability for the district.

McGee’s full plan can be read here.

The superintendent noted that pandemic conditions could change in the coming weeks.

McGee told the school board that 17 percent of elementary school students are learning entirely from home, 25 percent at the middle schools level, and 44 percent at the high school level.

The superintendent said the district in January was aiming to get vaccines and begin inoculating staff under Phase 1B, but the slow distribution of vaccines caused those plans to fall apart.

While COVID-19 cases are trending down, the district had more than 30 employees out due to being ill with COVID-19 or in quarantine due to close contact recently, McGee said.
