With a winter storm now predicted to bring snow to the area to start the week, local municipalities are declaring snow emergencies ahead of the first flakes.

Bristol Borough
No declaration has been made, but Bristol Borough police issued the following message:
In anticipation of snow fall Sunday into Monday, there will be NO PARKING on Mill Street and the 100 block of Radcliffe Street. This will take affect beginning Sunday evening, January 31st at 5 pm. until Monday, February 1st at 5 pm. The purpose of this is to allow for snow removal. The Police Department and Public Works department appreciates the publics cooperation .

A Snow Emergency has been declared for Bristol Township in anticipation of the forecasted snowfall. The snow emergency starts at 6:00pm Sunday, January 31, 2021 and ends at 11:59pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 subject to change depending on the track of the incoming weather.
During this emergency: During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all designated Snow Emergency routes and on all Township roadways where residents have access to off-street parking.
No person shall operate a vehicle upon any street without chains or all-weather tires.
Any vehicle parked, stalled, incapable of moving or left unattended on any street, may be removed or towed by the Police Department.
No person shall deposit snow upon any street.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said a snow emergency would begin at 6 p.m. Sunday and will expire at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. All residents are required to move vehicles, boats and trailers from the street and into driveways. Failure to comply can result in a ticket and/or towing. The fire marshal cautioned residents not to use generators inside if there is a power outage.

The Mayor has declared a snow emergency for the upcoming snowstorm. Please remove all vehicles from streets by 4 p.m. Sunday Jan. 31st to allow plows to remove snow. Non-removal of vehicles will result in being ticketed and/or towed. Please clear sidewalks within 12 hours after snow ceases to fall.

Middletown Township

A snow emergency will be in effect as a severe winter storm is heading our way later today. This storm is expected to bring significant snow accumulations through Tuesday, February 2. Township crews will be working hard to clear any accumulated snow on residential streets. Crews from PennDOT and PECO will be working to keep state roads clear of snow and utilities in operation. Please take necessary precautions, including moving vehicles off roadways and limiting travel. Emergency Management Message: MAYOR CUTCHINEAL ISSUED A SNOW / ICE EMERGENCY HAS BEEN DECLARED for Tullytown Borough beginning January 31, 2021 @ 8pm through February 2cd @ 1pm unless earlier rescinded. All available data as of 400am this morning from the NWS indicates snowfall amounts between 13 to 18 inches. We are asking the residents based on this information to remove all vehicles from the streets to assist our public works department. The storm will bring heavy wet snow, high winds and the potential for power outages.
