Forecasters said the “major winter storm” will affect the region starting Sunday afternoon or evening. The storm will start as snow and the area could see some mixed precipitation before a change back to snow. The storm is expected to move out of the area by midday Tuesday.
The forecast map calls for between 12 to 14 inches to fall in Lower Bucks County.
“Significant snowfall is expected, with the heaviest amounts favored over eastern Pennsylvania and central and northern New Jersey. The expected area of heaviest snow has shifted northward today. However, the exact storm track remains uncertain and a shift in track could bring the heavier snow amounts farther north or south,” National Weather Service forecasters said in Saturday evening briefing.

The storm comes as the area has been gripped by cold temperatures. Bucks County has issued a Code Blue.
