A former bank along New Falls Road near Five Points in Bristol Township is being converted in a Bucks County office building.
Work has been underway over the past month or so to convert the former First Bank building adjacent to the Lower Bucks Government Service Center to the new lower end office for the Bucks County Adult Probation and Parole Department, which will relocate from Warminster.
The bank terminated their lease for the property, which is owned by Bucks County, in spring. The end of the lease came as the county was working to consolidate properties across their footprint and as the Warminster office building was in the process of being sold by the county, said Kevin Spencer, Bucks County’s general services director.

The building is being renovated by county general services staff.
Spencer said the work will include removing counter tops and gutting some walls. County crews will construct interview rooms, office space, a secure entrance area, and enclose the drive-thru to create a 294-square-foot conference room. The bank’s former safe will remain as an evidence storage area.

Before Bristol Township Council last month, Spencer said the county paid taxes when it was being leased by a for-profit bank, but no taxes will be paid when it is being used by the county government.
The new probation and parole department office parking lot and entire Lower Bucks Government Service Center pavement is being considered for repaving in 2020.
The Council waived land development for the project.
