New signs are going up at the entrances of many of Middletown neighborhoods.
The crisp blue signs that feature reflective paint on the white lettering began going up in recent weeks after the Board of Supervisors awarded a bid and change order to Forman Sign Company on Philadelphia for a combined total of $92,848.

Nick Valla, a management analyst for the township, said Middletown is replacing all 45 existing green neighborhood signs in the Levittown and Langhorne sections. New signs are also being installed outside the municipal center, public works facility, Veterans Memorial Park, Middletown Community Park, and five new signs will welcome motorists entering the township.
“The signs are made of high-density urethane, automotive-grade paint, and breakaway posts, mounted by rust-resistant ceramic screws, in an effort to make the signs last for the next generation,” Valla said.
Public works crews are installing the signs throughout the township to reduce costs.

As of last week, about 20 of the signs have been installed as crews work their way through the community.
Valla said next year the township will be working to identity neighborhoods that may need signs and other municipal properties that will need updated signage.

The signs were made in America and designed by resident Terry McCloskey.
Middletown’s previous signs featured various styles and designs outside neighborhoods through the township.
Middletown was spurred to start updating their signs after Bristol Township completed a similar project in 2018.
